AMSTERDAM FASHION WEEK RECAP
At this point, you have probably seen lots of my photos on Instagram about Mercedes Benz Amsterdam Fashion Week. This year’s Fashion Week has been just great. I went to see the shows of Supertrash, Winde Rienstra, Rebecca Ward and Spijkers en Spijkers. The Supertrash show was held at a great industrial location, near Amsterdam. The room had a large white ball hanging from the ceiling and a big white runway. The whole show had a great futuristic vibe to it. The Winde Rienstra show was unbelievable and definitely the show I was looking foward to the most. And I was not disappointed at all! While Frisian singer Nynke Laverman sang a song in Frisian young girls with buns high on their head on towering high wooden shoes slowly entered the runway. They looked long, lean and serene in their off white and mint colored creations. One word: amazing! At Rebecca Ward I really liked the music of the show, the long silhouettes, the prints and the combination of sheer and leather fabric. The whole show brought you in another world. At Spijkers en Spijkers, which was the final show of Fashion Week, the grey suit and the sheer bomber jacket were my favorite. But I also liked the prints which were inspired by Jule Verne ‘Around the world in 80 days’ and drawn by their favorite Illustrator; Martina Johanna.
Next Fashion Week? I can’t wait!
